Euro 6 emissions or ULEZ standard (UK) was introduced late during 2015. Mostly 2016 onwards though on most diesel cars and some more recent petrols too with OPF or GPF installed. On Diesel Mercedes / VAG have been using adblue systems and NOX control as far back as 2011 on some models they involve not just a DPF system but also SCR selective catalytic reduction system linked to NOX sensors which are hard wired into the cars engine management system with a separate urea dosing tank and pump module in most cases to reduce emissions. Its similar to the older Eloys (PATS) fluids thats PSA developed in 2008. NB. This service is not required for Eloys / PATS you can use normal solutions.
Now these vehicles are getting more than a year or two past there manufacturers warranty were are starting to get more and more requests for solutions to delete the EGR DPF NOX and SCR (Adblue Systems)
To make a delete solution for some of these newer generation of ecu can be complex and time consuming unlike previous euro 5 models where DPF`S can simply be switched off these systems are hard coded to prevent tampering. Generally a advanced solution will required to be made so a fin some circumstances a few flash file revisions will be sometimes needed from us to clear up remaining DTC codes and in some cases the adblue ecu, tank and pumps underneath to be unplugged too as well as DTC codes reported back to us at each step.
Unfortunately unlike tuning these arent always "flash and dash" kind of jobs to do in a mobile scenario / customers driveway so its best the car is in the workshop where you can gain access to the components needed on the vehicle and be able to flash necessary files and give us feedback on what DTC codes the vehicle responds with etc after driving at each step.
Some also count down (without warning) to a non start scenario so it important to test drive after removing Adblue SCR system to ensure the car restarts and doesn't leave you or your customer stranded roadside.
On some ecus the time frame in between files mod file revisions may not be in the usual 1hr window so (please ask first) if your going on an outcall to a job or attempting in evenings. Hence extra labor time and patience is needed on many of these sorts of jobs we from both yourselves and us to delete the emissions entirely. We recommend you undertake this kind of work only if your an experienced technician and have the car booked into the workshop for a day or two whilst we work with at each step towards a working solution.
Beta Developments solutions More work will be required and the likelihood is these jobs will be more trickier than the others and more changes and file revisions possibly required please bare this in mind.
Beta Manual Solutions - Usually experimental and required on more unusual ecu requests. These jobs are the most complex require lot of manual recalculation and changes to the hex code to it working without emissions in place as theres no preset switches in the maps to turn components off these kind of jobs are about as hard as ecu tuning gets even for an experienced calibration engineer. Only for undertaking by experienced technician with time in workshop and full dealer diagnostics.
If the ecu your undertaking is on a diesel car 2016 onwards and in the list below and your deleting anything to do with emissions eg EGR NOX DPF ADBLUR/SCR you will need this service opposed to the half priced "just deletes" service.
